Analogue Wonderland Photowalk in Tunbridge Wells—Looking back
Exploring Tunbridge Wells with a group of film photographers. A relaxed afternoon capturing the town’s best spots and sharing photography tips.
On Sunday, 19th May 2024, I had the pleasure of hosting my first analogue photowalk in Tunbridge Wells, and it was a fantastic experience. Starting at Hattons Café, 38 The Pantiles, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN2 5TN, we set out at 12:00 noon with a small group of six photographers. Participants came from both Tunbridge Wells and as far as Hastings, eager to explore the town’s most photogenic areas while focusing on urban street photography.
What I didn’t expect was the variety of experience in the group. While I’d anticipated mostly beginners, we had a mix of newcomers and self-confessed film photography ‘nerds’! This made for some great conversations, not just about photography techniques but also about the joy of connecting with others who share a passion for shooting on film.
We began our walk capturing the charming streets and architecture around The Pantiles, and then explored some of the small and secret passageways around the area, before then heading back towards the lively Sankey’s Feast and Fire Festival. As the festival was very noisy and busy, we found a quiet pub just off a side street where we could talk properly, swap stories, and review some of the shots we’d taken.
As an ambassador for Analogue Wonderland, I’m proud to promote their mission of making film photography accessible and enjoyable for everyone. If you’re interested in diving into the world of film, you can find a wide selection of film and cameras available for purchase through Analogue Wonderland

What’s Next? Join a Workshop!
If you missed out this time, don’t worry. I’m planning more analogue photography workshops, specifically for beginners or anyone iwho might feel unsure about using film. These workshops, called Analogue Photography for Beginners, will be small (max 6 people) and relaxed, offering plenty of hands-on help, whether it’s loading film or getting the best out of your camera.
I’ll be announcing new dates soon, so if you’re interested, please register your interest and when you’d like to go on a workshop, so I can get back to you with dates. My local workshops cost between £25 and £45 for a half day, depending on the type of support and training included.
