This summer, Live on the Pantiles brought the streets of Royal Tunbridge Wells to life with an incredible series of live music events. I had the pleasure of photographing 18 of these gigs between May and September 2024, and the energy was nothing short of electric. Among the highlights were the Soul Train events, with three unforgettable nights of soul, funk, and dance-floor classics that kept the audience grooving.



Vince Dunn and The Funky Express—29th July



One of the standout acts was Vince Dunn and The Funky Express on 29th July. This band brought the heat with their tight rhythms and powerful brass section. They were floor-stomping, energetic, and impossible to forget. Photographing them was a true joy—each member had such expressive energy, and their connection with the crowd was magnetic. I aimed to capture that raw emotion and excitement that made the night unforgettable.



The Audacity Funk & Soul Band—31st August


Equally memorable was The Audacity, who hit the stage later in the season with an undeniable presence. Seamlessly blending high-energy hits from the 1950s to the 2020s, their performance was a whirlwind of soulful vocals and high-energy instrumentation that had the audience moving non-stop. They were dynamic, engaging, and really interacted with the crowd, making every moment feel special. As a photographer, these are the kinds of moments I live for—when the connection between the performers and the audience creates a unique magic that comes alive in photos.
