Multi-tasking—candid and posed, live and studio portraits
I heard about Bodfactory on the grapevine through a make-up artist friend, and was delighted to be chosen to be part of their photography team to photograph their event over two days in The Eden Project, a stunning location in the heart of Cornwall in the south-west of England.
Models and make-up artists came from all over the world to take part. The first day was the main competition, with a 'free' theme, and the second day the painters had to work with the theme of 'camouflage', and successfully 'hide' their models against nature and the enormous biomes set in this famous eco-attraction.

Studio photography on location
—The main objective was to provide posed high quality studio photographs that could be used for the make-up artists and models' portfolios.
Candid natural and posed portraits
—Natural portraits taken of the event and the models taking part in the public parades and the competition, as well as during the gala dinners and the 'after-party'.
Behind the Scenes
—Step by step candid 'behind-the-scenes' photos to show the atmosphere of the event as well as showing body painters' progress during the six or seven hours to prepare for the competition.
how we achieved this...
I'm able to offer a variety of different photographic and video offerings for events: behind the scenes and candid shots using available light, event videos and photographs, as well as and staged and posed shots using studio lighting on location.
I take a wide variety of shots to capture the bigger picture, the people, the action and also the finer details.
I can provide images in the format and resolution you need; we cover this off in our initial briefing meeting.
the way I work is to quote a flat fee for events, including travel expenses, and then you receive all the images I take together with any image editing that we've agreed. I'm completely transparent about what my fees charge, so you can make informed decisions for your budget.
